NOUVEAU ANNOUNCE THE UP AND COMING STOCKTON COMMUNITY WELLNESS PROJECT

We are overjoyed and very excited to announce that the Reaching Communities Big Lottery Fund has awarded Nouveau Wellbeing £200,000 to enable us to deliver the Stockton Community Wellness Project.

The fund will allow us to increase healthy living for people and communities across Stockton-on-Tees. Three new specifically designed programmes; Move with Us, Cook with Us and Community Pods will get communities active, eating healthily and encourage behaviour change for long lasting results.

Move with Us will engage adults in a vast range of physical activity opportunities such as new age kurling, dancing, boxercise and walking to encourage people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to get involved.

There will also be interactive learning around healthy eating and beneficiaries will be signposted to the Cook with Us workshops to learn how to cook staple, affordable and healthy meals that will benefit the whole family.

Community Pods will provide long term support to beneficiaries and their families by offering a range of on-going weekly activities throughout the course of the project. Activities offered will be shaped by the beneficiaries and will be broken down into activities for children and young people, adults, people with disabilities, older adults and families.

The project kicks off in January 2015 bringing 20 new fun, innovative and effective dance and fitness classes to the area and we can't wait! If you would like more information on the Stockton Community Wellness Project please contact us.
