Zumba Gold

Zumba Gold

Class Description

The concept behind Zumba is to combine a dance-based workout with an enjoyable, party atmosphere. Taking inspiration from a range of Latin dance styles including merengue, cha-cha, belly dance, rumba, tango and salsa, it's an exercise class which is inclusive, open to everyone and free from judgement as to whether you can dance or not!

Zumba is incredibly high-energy, offering you the potential to burn up to 1,000 calories in one class (if you really put the effort in!), and it soon became apparent that groups of older people, those with handicaps and even unconditioned beginners found some of the moves and routines a little too intense and unachievable.

So, Zumba Gold was created. Staying true to the original Zumba idea in that it is adaptable to authentic music and each instructor's choreography, it is simply a low-impact version. Breaking down traditional Zumba moves to adhere to the limits of an older or less able audience, Zumba Gold still has all the benefits of the regular class; it is a form of endurance training which helps maintain a healthy heart and circulatory system, develops coordination, and, obviously, burns plenty of calories!
